How can you be SO selective? Do you care about birds or not? I got 2 blackbirds on my feeder this week and I am thrilled. We love them all- birds, rats, squirrels any sort no problem. Stop acting God.

In my backyard each morning I have canidal sounds

I have a Buster Plus on a pole in my yard. I pull it off the pole to fill it and ALOT of seed runs out of the feed holes onto the ground. Even when the feeder is up on the pole and filled, the feeder emptied in about 3 days with the seed laying in the tray below. Three days ago I was filling and put my foot on the cardinal ring to pull up on the tube hoping to close the round feed ports when the tube came loose in my hand. I saw an indent and a yellow sticker, lined them up and the tube fit back on the base. And the seed DID'T spill out the feed holes! BUT, is the seed making its way down to the feed holes? Any insight into what I was either doing wrong before, (seed flowing out), or have done now, (seed staying in the tube)? Perhaps a week or so will tell, if the seed is going down in the tube. Your video is very helpful, thanks. Here in Virginia I have a plague of grekels, cardinals, Caolina finch, blue jays, mocking birds and a few others as regulars. Have seen a couple Baltimore Orioles and Red Wing Blackbirds! I have a suet feeder that draws a couple read headed woodpeckers. And crows are discovering the peanuts I put out on a bald spot in the lawn and on top od a burn barrel. So, having lived in NYC for the past 43 years, I'm pretty excited! And new. Thanks for your help.

I found this video LOOKING for an old video archive of "wild ravens courting". I will NEVER forget what an amazing thing it was to see "raven courting" as the FEMALES CHOSE a mate. The boys had to be the best of the best as they frolicked/rolled downhill and flipped up as MUCH SNOW as they could being "clowns" to "win" the favour of the "onlooking females". The girls CHOSE their mate by who made the BEST silly, goofy, pretentious accidents and the MALES who made them enjoy the spectacle WON their heart. It's crazy to think how even, in this "human monogamous" parallel , birds can teach us what makes us "sexy". haha ... As I ALWAYS SAID: "If you ain't laughin'?... you ain't livin''" :)

How about are there scouts for poopin on pool ledges!!! I swear they do this on purpose, hold it in get to pool ledge and poop! May be buying an inflatable big bird to float around pool. I saw idea on here. Or perhaps fake snakes on ledges I saw on here also. I put a fake small crocodile, didnt phase them😤

Im here in maryland and have had a few owls for years. One is coming out more often. Everyday getting very close to us and my kids in the yard. He sits in the swingset believe it or not. A lil scary but im putting one if these up. Thanks for the info.

After watching your very informative video, I decided to clean my feeder. The problem is I and unable to remove the wingnut. I tried wd40, no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you

I feed orioles jelly in a little hanging tray. Is there a way to keep little purple finches out of the jelly, as they are eating most of it.

I put out caged feeders, where finches and sparrows are happily eating. I have a red winged black bird invasion since January, thats why i started with the cages. The fact they cant get to the food as much makes them more agressive. They cling on the cages and pulling out the small birds. I feed mourning doves in my window feeders and leave safflower seeds in a tray for them in the yard too. But i started finding dead headless finches around the house in the past week. I was wondering what made this massacre. I saw a grackle around ( i didnt know what it was, but just found out its breed today), and i literally witnessed it killing a little finch next to a caged feeder this afternoon. I ran outside, but it was too late. I am so devastated, i enjoyed watching the little birds and doves coexist peacefully, now im terrified to look outside the window. And i thought the red winged devils were bad, now i found out grackles are carnivores and literally praying on my small finches and sparrows ( so far finches fell victims). So far i have seen maybe 2 grackles around. When i put out food for squirrels too, there were more, and zero squirrels because these black creatures were sitting in the bowls all day). What can i do to stop the killing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having 3 grackles aggressively at my porch feeder, the other small birds can't eat and they mess the porch.

Hi there. watching form Scotland where the starlings have been raiding my bird feeders.They are incredibly successful at getting through the guardian cage I bought sadly. Smart ibirds! However I thought you gave some good advice here. Thank you.

I put birdseed outside my window so I and my cat could enjoy watching them. Then the squirrels took over, and I did research and hit on the "hot pepper sauce" solution. Squirrels can't stand the heat, but birds don't even taste it, so the bluebirds, Cardinals, mourning doves, and sparrows returned. 3 years later, suddenly, European starlings discovered the feeder, and from then on, all I had was 50 to 100 starlings eating all the seed in a tenth of the time, fighting amongst themselves, and chasing all the other birds away. It wasn't very long before I didn't want to see another starling as long as I lived. I finally hit on taking the top off a small mammal cage, setting on its short end, and putting the seed cylinder inside it, where the starlings could only get on one side, which faced my window. That way I could scare the starlings off and give the other bird species a fighting chance. Eventually, after about a year, the starlings got tired of this, and moved on. It worked, and now my cat and I can enjoy a variety of birds again, including the migrating Robins.

I live in a bird sanctuary and I love our Blue Herons, Finches, Bluebirds, and our state bird, the Cardinal. I also love Hummingbirds, but you have to have the time to keep hummingbirds' feeders clean, and I am finally a new grandma. ❤

Having worked for veterinary and human medicine it is probably me, but I don't put my pet's or wild animal food bowls in my dishwasher. It might be okay but it might introduce infectious germs that you don't want.

I have as many as 10-12, Juncos around my feeder in Michigan about 25 miles north of Grand Rapids near Sand Lake and they will be leaving soon at the end of April. But they really love it here and when you crush peanuts and put them on the deck floor that is their favorite snack, except you have to watch out for the Jays because they gobble them up too 😣

I just order one of these cage feeders for myself but I'm a little worried about the size of this. You mentioned your feeder has to be 18inches or shorter to fit in but on your website it says 16inches or shorter. Please help!
